I adore you in all your glory, for being holy and giving your only son for me. I am sorry for what I have done, and what I have failed to do as it takes me further away from you. Thank you for blessing me with a safe, fruitful life. Thank you for all you have done in my life and for continuing on being there for me when I need you most. Thankyou for my health, my faith, and your forgiveness. Thank you for my family and friends who help me through the day and for the unconditional love you give me. Please help me be more like you and to do your will. Please help those suffering from illnesses and let them know that you are always there. Give me the strength to keep my faith, even in my darkest times and the compassion to help others in theirs.
All this I ask in your name, Jesus Christ, Amen.
Presumably you’re the same person who asked the question, “Is it sinful in the eyes of God to have sex before marriage?” But to this question, I answer, yes, you can be Christian and have sex. Did you not get the point of my last post? God WANTS you to have sex. But he wants you to wait till you’re married, and he only wants you to have sex with your spouse.
That’s not to say you can’t be christian if you arent a virgin, and that if you lose your virginity, that God will turn his back on you. It just means that, it’s a sin. Like with all sins, if you truly regret and ask for forgiveness, then you’re forgiven. Simple as that.
The context of this question is pretty weird. You can do literally whatever you want, and still be a christian. I’m pretty sure even Hitler called himself christian in his book, “Mein Kampf”(Please correct me if I’m wrong there). Your level of sin, does not correspond with weather or not you’re a christian. You’re a christian if you believe in God and in your heart, consider yourself christian. Christians, Catholics, Baptists, they’re all just labels. If you love our heavenly father, then it doesnt really matter what category you place yourself under.
Of course it is. Sex was designed for a man and a wife, to procreate and populate the wonderful planet that He created for us to live on. But it’s not just to populate the earth, he created sex for pleasure, for a couple(a married one) to feel good with each other, after all, why would He have made it feel good if it were simply meant to be another chore, if you will.
I’ll politely decline on giving you my opinion on the subject, but I will give you my ideas as to why God made sex the way he did.
God gave us free will, and with that, he gave us choices. One such choice, one that haunts many of us, is the one between lust, and love. God could have easily made sex absolutely numb, and only something that people decided they wanted to do when they figured it was time to have a child. But no, He gave it such a strong feeling of euphoria and love that he wanted it to be a sign of trust, and love, to your partner, and to only your partner.
So in creating this great sign of love and trust to your partner, he has also given us a choice. The choice to follow His will and save ourselves for our future spouses, or disobey him and waste such a gift on a random girl or guy in a drunken stupor. But that’s just my opinion and interpretation of what he could have created it for.
I know the choice I’ve made. Which choice will you decide?
Lord, Heavenly Father,
We pray to You, that each and every one of Your children struggling with their friendships is able to repair those relationships through Your strength and divine mercy, not through their will, but yours. Lord, we put our lives in your hands, and if you will it, please allow all of us struggling with our friendships to repair them.
We thank and praise you, for everything you’ve done and sacrificed for us. Lent having ended only a few days ago, we remember what pain and suffering you went through for our sins, and as a sinful and imperfect people, we know that we can do nothing but try to please you and live lives as close to yours as we can. But also being a sinful people, we acknowledge that we are only bound to fail somewhere, but our relationships need not suffer because of this. Because of this, Lord, we ask that you repair our friendships, again, not through our will, but yours.
Amen.
Saint Jonathan, patron saint of friendship, pray for us.
“Some friends bring ruin on us / but a true friend is more loyal than a brother” - Proverbs 18:24
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. he noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that at the worst times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. How could you leave me when I needed you the most?”
The Lord replied ” My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of suffering and when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”
